President John is President of the OBA, taking over from Gerry Jones in 1998.
He was educated at Bradford Abbas, Foster’s School, Loughborough College and Exeter University.He joined the staff of Blandford Grammar School in 1952. He is an FA Coach and Fully Qualified Member of the A.C.U. He retired as School Counsellor of The Blandford School in December 1987. He is Administrator and Trustee of The Paulley Charitable Trust, Chairman of Governors at Durweston First School and Foundation Governor of The Blandford School. He has been a Parish Councillor since 1955.John is a Foundation Member of the Blandford and Preetz Friendship Society, a member of the Dorset and Poole Education Appeals Panel and Lay Member of The Special Educational Needs Tribunal. To all this add the Presidency of The Probus Club of Blandford, OBA Cricket Club and The Blandford Opportunity Group. He was awarded the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal in 1977 and the MBE in the 2003 New Years Honours List
