Neil Pike

Neil's route to membership of the OBA commenced in 1975 when he attended Pimperne 1st School. In 1979 he graduated to St Leonards Middle School in its first year of opening and then in 1984 he joined Blandford Upper School to complete his Old Blandfordian 'apprenticeship'. A keen sportsman, his fondest memories are found on the sports field. He represented school in tennis, badminton, football, cricket and rugby, captaining the latter two teams.

After leaving school he obtained a BTec in Building Studies and then went to Plymouth University, graduating with a 2:1 Honours degree in Civil & Structural Engineering. He currently works in Bournemouth as a structural engineer. Married to Anne, a fellow OB, they are expecting their first baby OB any day.

He still participates in many sports, representing the OBA Cricket Club and JP Squash Club in Dorset League competitions.

Invited onto the committee by the late David Farley, Neil has encouraged many of our younger members to join. He has also been instrumental in organsing some of most successful events, including squash, golf and skittles competitions, quiz nights and brewery visits!

Neils aims for the OBA are to encourage and promote sport for the current pupils at Blandford schools, encourage more younger members to join the OBA and increase the business links between the school and business.
