Christopher Hazelwood
Vice Chair & Membership Secretary Chris was born in 1947 the youngest of four children. Brother Bill and sister Elizabeth also went to Blandford Grammar School. He was brought up in Hammoon and Sturminster, educated at Manston Primary School (an idyllic village school), and Blandford Grammar School . He moved to London immediately after school to work for the summer holidays and never returned. A spell in the Civil Service and then a run of jobs in purchasing was followed by a return to education as a mature student at Epsom School of Art & Design. After four years and a Diploma in Art & Design, Chris moved into advertising. A chance meeting in France and a conversation with a fellow student and Chris found himself employed in the cosmetics industry as a designer. Some thirty years later he is still involved in it on a free-lance basis, running his own design studio in Kingston upon Thames. National brands of cosmetics and toiletries are his bread and butter with a smattering of other clients to add variety. Chris lives in Kingston and is Chairman and Company Secretary for the estate he lives on. His hobbies include the OBA, collecting childrens illustrated books and gardening. Chris loves working for the association feeling it is very important for school friends to be able to keep in touch. Development of the membership has always been his aim and has met with some success in the last few years but would like to see the figures much, much higher.
