Chris Holland
Minutes Secretary
Chris attended the Blandford Upper School from 1973 until 1977, having first attended Blandford Infant School at the Damory Road site, Blandford Primary School in Park Road, Tarrant Keynston Primary School and The Milldown Middle School.
He was always a keen sportsman and represented the schools at football, cricket and rugby. As a result of this sporting inclination he subsequently attended St Mary’s College, Strawberry Hill where he attained a degree in Sport and History.
Once his education was completed he changed direction completely and began a career with The Dorset Ambulance Service. Now, 22 years on, Chris is stationed back in his home town of Blandford as an operational paramedic and Clinical Support Officer.
Chris first became interested in the Old Blandfordians Association through their cricket team and then moved on to the committee. He has been a committee member for over 10 years and is keen to see the association reach out to younger people to ensure its future.
Chris remembers how Mr John Paulley was admired by all whilst they were at school and his influence has inspired him to take a greater role in the local community and especially in supporting local education. He is currently a Foundation Governor of the Blandford School.
Married to Katrina for 17 years, they have a daughter Charlotte who is currently a pupil at The Blandford School. To old and overweight for proper sport, Chris tries to play golf at Rushmore Park.
